Chair for AI in Climate and Environmental Sciences

Welcome to the website of the new KIT Chair for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Climate and Environmental Sciences. Here you can find the latest information about us, including our research and teaching offers.

The research group is led by TT-Prof. Dr. Peer Nowack and was established in spring 2023. The group was previously based at the University of East Anglia, UK. Our work focuses on machine learning techniques to address key challenges in the fields of climate and environmental sciences.

On our website, we will use the terms artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning almost interchangeably, as is currently typical in our discipline. However, note that machine learning is really only a subset of AI, see e.g. the following explanation in English, or a German alternative here.
